Spinning a Web of Leaders Bike Ride

Setting out on September 12th 2009 Steve Webb will be spinning from his hometown of Peterborough, Ontario Canada to Long Island, New York. The journey consists of about 650 miles (the long way) over 10 days averaging 65 miles a day. Though travelled many times over and over the past 13 years in the comfort of a vehicle, sipping coffee and moving at about 65 mph. I have decided to slow it down a bit to a mere 13-20 mph by using my childhood method of transportation. My BIKE

The Spinning a Web of Leaders Ride has two meanings. One is to raise funds in order to multiply the number of future leaders on Long Island we help with educational grants and partial scholarships through the sport of hockey. Secondly we will also be supporting the leaders in research for the disease of Alzheimer.s and Dementia. Since this bike ride will be taking place in two countries and the W20 Foundation is focused directly on Long Island students. We have reached out and teamed up with another cause that is very important to us. The Baycrest Foundation which is a hospital in Toronto Canada that supports care and research for Alzheimer.s and Dementia. Understanding that this disease has not only effected our family but many others around the world. By teaming up with the Baycrest Foundation, we will be giving people outside the Long Island demographics the opportunity to support the ride.
